A research-driven success story

When we met OneCall, they were a leading IT and technology services company in Otago and Southland with some exciting future plans. Headquartered in Dunedin, they relied on their sales team and referrals to develop their brand locally. Their Board of Directors wanted growth and they were ready to adopt a digital marketing strategy, which they hoped would build on their previous successes and help them expand into new markets. They brought Traction on board to deliver all their marketing needs and work with their existing teams and contractors.

There were a number of initial barriers. Their website needed a UX and UI overhaul, as well as a story and aesthetic that demonstrated a deeper understanding of their buyers, and a brand that would better appeal to new customers. As with any serious and ambitious change, our first port of call was in-depth customer interviews. We wanted to understand why OneCall’s current customers chose them: what made their experience unique, what language resonated, and where OneCall’s technical prowess offered a fresh perspective. The answers to these questions become the framework for a website build and a 12-month content plan. We developed rich testimonials, case studies, blogs, keywords and taglines that would respond to SEO.

We continued to partner with OneCall beyond those first 12 months as an outsourced marketing team. Some of the more notable work included:

  • Implementing and managing an SEO strategy
  • Developing and managing a complex Google advertising campaign that had their competitors talking
